What is InteSys?

InteSys is a cloud infrastructure company headquartered in Porto Alegre, Brazil, operating since 2005. We provide VPS cloud servers, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), email hosting, transactional email (FrontEngine), and DevOps consulting services. Our infrastructure runs on Tier 3 datacenters in Brazil, Europe, and North America.

Where are your datacenters located?

We operate Tier 3 datacenters in the following regions:

  • Brazil — Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo
  • Europe — Amsterdam and Frankfurt
  • North America — Ashburn, Virginia (USA)

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

Most services are available on a monthly billing cycle with no long-term commitment. Annual plans are available at a discount. Enterprise IaaS and DevOps engagements may have custom terms.


VPS and Infrastructure

Can I upgrade my VPS without downtime?

Vertical scaling (adding CPU, RAM, or storage) typically requires a brief reboot of under 60 seconds. For zero-downtime scaling, consider horizontal scaling with load balancing or upgrading to our managed IaaS service.

What operating systems do you support?

We offer templates for Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, and Windows Server. You can also upload custom ISO images for other operating systems. Contact support for assistance with non-standard OS requirements.

How are backups handled?

All VPS instances include automated daily backups with a minimum 3-day retention period. Extended plans offer hourly snapshots with up to 30-day retention and cross-region replication. You can also create manual snapshots at any time through the client portal.

Test Your Backups

Periodically restore a backup to a temporary server to verify your data is recoverable. Untested backups are not reliable backups.


Email

What is the difference between Corporate and Professional email?

Corporate Email (Zimbra/Carbonio) is a full groupware suite with email, calendar, contacts, file sharing, and video conferencing. Professional Email (Stalwart) focuses on email only with a modern, lightweight architecture. See the comparison table for full details.

How do I improve email deliverability?

Configure all three email authentication standards for your domain:

  1. SPF — Authorizes your mail servers to send on your behalf
  2. DKIM — Adds a cryptographic signature to verify message integrity
  3. DMARC — Ties SPF and DKIM together with a policy for handling failures

Use the Email Auth Validator to verify your setup and the Multi-RBL Lookup to check your sending IP reputation.

Can I migrate from another email provider?

Yes. InteSys provides assisted migration for Corporate Email (Zimbra/Carbonio) customers, including mailbox content, calendar events, and contacts. For Professional Email, we provide IMAP migration guidance. Contact support to plan your migration.


Transactional Email

What is the difference between email hosting and transactional email?

Email hosting provides mailboxes for people to send and receive email (like Gmail or Outlook). Transactional email (FrontEngine) is an API service for applications to send automated messages — order confirmations, password resets, notifications, and similar triggered emails.

What are the sending limits?

Sending limits depend on your plan:

New accounts start with lower limits during the IP warm-up period to build sender reputation.


Billing and Account

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and bank transfer (boleto bancario for Brazilian customers). Enterprise customers can arrange invoiced billing with NET-30 terms.

How do I cancel a service?

  1. Log in to the Client Portal
  2. Navigate to Services > select the service
  3. Click Request Cancellation
  4. Confirm the cancellation

Data Retention After Cancellation

After cancellation, your data is retained for 7 days before permanent deletion. Download any data you need before cancelling. This period cannot be extended.
